Fantastical Kurbits for Kids!
July 8 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Join art professor Alison Aune in a Swedish Folk Art Family workshop.
Alison will give a brief background of Dalmålning, also known as kurbits painting or Dala painting, which flourished in Sweden in the 18th and 19th centuries. The kurbit was a fantastical gourd plant commonly used in folk paintings in Dalarna Sweden, as a symbol of good luck.
After the presentation, Alison will lead participants in creating their own kurbit interpretations as we revive the tradition using a contemporary color palette!
All ages are welcome (elementary-high school students and parents, grandparents, and friends). Bring a lunch and a smock or work apron.
The fee is $35 per person ($30 for members) – all supplies are included.
Register at least five days before the workshop on Eventbrite to attend: https://tinyurl.com/fantasticalkurbits
