DESCRIPTION:Season Opening Day marks the first day of the 2024 season. This family-friendly\, free event will feature many exciting activities and exhibits! \n \nFrom 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.\, \n·        View three new exhibits in the Welcome House (Välkommen Hus): Sami Clothing and Culture; Visit Leksand\, Sweden; and Games\, Toys\, and Pastimes of the Mid- to Late-1800s. \n·        See the historic buildings and look for some artifacts that have not been displayed before. \n·        Visit Little Blue’s Traveling Zoo by Gammelgården’s barn\, and see and touch a variety of farm animals. \n·        See and touch popular nineteenth-century games\, hosted by costumed interpreters from the Living History Society of Minnesota. \n·        Do hands-on historical activities by each of the buildings. \n·        Shop at the Arts\, Crafts\, and Vendor Fair. DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of block printing in this two-hour workshop led by Nordic Craft Instructor Kayla Ann. Kayla will guide students through the process of block printing\, breaking down the tools\, techniques\, and tips for printing greeting cards right at home. Students will finish the class with a completed project and tons of inspiration to continue block printing at home. \nThese skills learned in class will prepare you for future printing projects on fabric and paper\, plus you’ll have all the tools and materials you need to keep printing at home. Suitable for ages 16+. Hand and wrist dexterity required for this class.  \nThis is a live virtual class taught over Zoom.
