SUMMARY:Northern Bedrock Replaces Logs in the Pastor's House
DESCRIPTION:Two crews from Northern Bedrock will be replacing between 11-14 logs in the Pastor’s House on the northwest and southeast sides of the building. The logs have rotted from age as well as water damage\, and will be replaced by 14 crew members. \nThe logs will be chainsawed to the approximate size. Once that step is complete\, each log will be hand-hewn\, as the Swedish immigrants did to build the Pastor’s Home in the 1800s. \nThe crews also will be working on removing and replacing the cedar shakes on the Pastor’s House and restoring the windows of the Stuga. \nThe crews arrive on the 7th\, work from the 8th-14th\, and then pack up and travel back to Duluth on the 15th.

DESCRIPTION:  \nCome join Ezra and August to learn about the practice of Dalmåning\, a form of Swedish decorative folk painting used to adorn wooden furniture and painted on linen. You will begin to see these designs on many items around the museum!\n\nTraditionally\, paintings are done on stretched linen on a wooden frame\, but we will be painting on a mixed fabric\, stretched over cardboard. We will supply paint\, brushes\, and fabric to paint on\, so you can take home a 4×6 inch painting!

Led by Ann Gentry\, an award-winning crop artist\, create an image using various shapes\, colors\, and sizes of seeds\, legumes\, and grains. \n \nIn this hands-on workshop (which includes all supplies)\, you will learn how to create a design\, prepare the canvas\, and apply the seeds and grains to make your unique image.
