DESCRIPTION:This two-day\, in-person workshop led by the Midwest Art Conservation Center (MACC) for up to 20 participants will provide instruction on the ethics\, hazards\, and benefits of cleaning cultural heritage material artifacts that are stable and in good condition. \nWith a mix of lectures and hands-on practical exercises\, the workshop will cover specific techniques for cleaning textiles\, picture frames\, ceramics\, glass\, silver\, and iron artifacts. \nDiscussions will also cover advanced cleaning topics\, including stabilizing historic iron\, selecting the appropriate level of cleaning\, and managing and training volunteers. \nClass Times: Monday\, July 20\, 2026\, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm; Tuesday\, July 21\, 2026\, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm \nFee: $600 Register Here \nFee for Minnesota Residents: FREE Register Here \nThanks to funds provided by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.
