Farm Couple Wood Carving

This farm couple, in the flat plane carving tradition, was a gift to Gammelgården Museum. The carving was created by Ardie Hazelquist who was the nephew of Annie Nelson Johnson and son of Hannah Nelson Hazelquist (the young sisters of Peter Magnus and Lovisa Nelson who bought the Prast Hus in 1884).

Ardie came to visit the property and shared stories from his Aunt and Mom about living in that house. After his visit in 1992, Ardie sent the carving as a thank-you for keeping his family home as a museum.
