Handmade Leather Billfold

This handmade billfold has a fold-over design type in red-brown leather. The billfold is extensively tooled on the exterior and interior, with the Roman numeral MDCCCXLII on one flap. The Roman numeral corresponds to the Arabic number 1842.

There are flaps and insertable tabs for “locking” the compartments and billfold. The compartments could have held bills, coins, a knife, and other personal documents and items.
