Puppet Show at the Museum on the 4th of July Weekend

Gammelgården Museum hosted Open Eye Theatre’s puppet show, The Adventures of Katie Tomatie, on Saturday, July 5th. Children and adults enjoyed the performance inside the Welcome House.

Audience members were able to see the puppets up close and hear some of the sound effects and voices that accompanied them.

Watching the puppet show and being introduced to puppetry builds upon the 2024 main exhibit at Gammelgården (Games, Toys, and Pastimes of the Mid- to Late-1800s). The museum aims to provide programs and classes that encourage people of all ages to step away from screens and learn new skills and be entertained in non-technological ways, much like those in the 1800s would have done.
