New this year! Camp Tomte is an exciting two-day camp for 7-10 years olds who love crafts, nature, history, and games. This fun camp is packed with hands-on activities to encourage a sense of exploration, creativity, and discovery.

August 14^th

10-10:30 – Arrival, check-in, Discovery Stations

10:30-10:40 – Introduction/overview of the day

10:40-12:00 – Make tomtes

12:00-12:30 – Lunch and time with the Discovery Stations

12:30-12:40 – Outdoor games

12:40-12:55 – Find hidden tomtes in classroom

12:55-1:25- Nature – focus on the restored prairie

1:25-1:55 – Nature craft –  cyanotype prints

1:55-2:10 – Nature journaling

2:10-2:45 – Tomte Treasure Hunt – Church and Immigrant House

2:45-3:00 –Gathering all items to take home. Closing activity

August 15th

10:40-11:10 – History focus: How the Swedish immigrants got to this area

11:10-12:00 – Environmental craft – Make a boat using upcycled materials

12:00-12:30 – Lunch and time with the Discovery Stations

12:30-12:40 – Outdoor games

12:40-12:55 – Find hidden tomtes in classroom

12:55-1:25- Nature – focus on the pond.

1:25-1:55 – Nature craft – create pond creatures and scene using air-dry clay

1:55-2:10 – Nature journaling

2:10-2:45 – Tomte Treasure Hunt – Barn, Pastor’s House, and Stuga

2:45-3:00 –Gathering all items to take home. Closing activity
