Serving Tankard

This handmade serving tankard was used for water or beer. The slatted wood pieces are held tight by grapevines and the tension of the slanted sides. This tankard would have been used to transport liquids to workers in the forest or field. Two photos show the “locking” mechanism that opens and closes the lid.
