Sugar and Creamer Set
One of the items in the Prast Hus at Gammelgården Museum of Scandia is this sugar and creamer set from the honeymoon of Annie Nelson Johnson (who lived in the Prast Hus for the majority of her life) and John Johnson who were wed in 1906.
Their one-day honeymoon was to the Minnesota State Fair where they had this sugar and creamer set personalized with their names.
To get to the Minnesota State Fair from Scandia, the Johnsons took a train. That year at the Fair, legendary pacer horse Dan Patch set the world record time of 1:55 for one mile at the Grandstand. James J. Hill also dedicated the newly-constructed Hippodrome. (Source: https://www.mnstatefair.org/general-info/history-timeline/).
