Learn the basics of block printing in this two-hour workshop led by Nordic Craft Instructor Kayla Ann. Kayla will guide students through the process of block printing, breaking down the tools, techniques, and tips for printing greeting cards right at home. Students will finish the class with a completed project and tons of inspiration to continue block printing at home.

These skills learned in class will prepare you for future printing projects on fabric and paper, plus you’ll have all the tools and materials you need to keep printing at home. Suitable for ages 16+. Hand and wrist dexterity required for this class. 

This is a live virtual class taught over Zoom. Students need a strong internet connection and a device with video capabilities. Students also provide their own materials for this virtual class; see the materials list below for more information.

Student Provided Materials:

• 4×6 or 5×7 folded cardstock or sketchbook paper for printing cards
• Scratch paper for sketching and test printing
• Pencil (2B, non-mechanical works best)
• X-acto knife, box cutter, or sharp scissors with cutting mat/surface for trimming stamps
• Apron
• Disposable plate or flat, smooth reusable surface for printing (link for metal inking plate if desired)

We recommend you work on a covered surface and wear a smock/clothes that can get ink on them.
