Inside at Gammelgården Museum: View the historic ice harvesting display; Warm up with Mamma Jo’s coffee, hot chocolate, and Swedish hot blueberry drink; and Shop at Gammelgården Butik (gift shop). Outside at Gammelgården Museum: Try a Scandinavian “spark” kicksled; and Enjoy a cozy bonfire by the gazebo.

TOMTE PUZZLE TOURNAMENT – Välkommen Hus 2nd Floor (big red Welcome House)
Six teams of up to four people compete to be the first to complete a 500-piece puzzle featuring 48 painted tomtes featured in Gammelgården’s Community Art Show during Taco Daze. Check-in at 10:15 am with the tournament starting at 10:30am.
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place prizes will be awarded for the Tomte Puzzle Tournament.

HISTORIC ICE HARVESTING PRESENTATION – Outside the Immigrant Hus (Immigrant House)
View a giant ice saw, ice tongs, and ice blocks — and learn how these tools were used to harvest ice in the 18th and early 19th centuries to keep food cold in the summer. Did you know that the Big Marine Lake Store (earlier known as the Kuno Store) harvested and sold ice blocks from Big Marine Lake starting in the 1920s? Try transporting an ice block on a Scandinavian “spark” kicksled or with a historic yoke.

GOOSECHASE TRIVIA TREASURE HUNT – Start from Gammelgården Museum or the Community Center.
Compete against your Scandia neighbors in teams of 2-5 people, earning points for completing missions around Vinterfest and for correctly answering trivia questions about Scandia history, winter sports, and Swedish heritage. One smartphone is required per team. Smartphones may be used to search for trivia answers. Connect to WiFi at Gammelgården Museum and the Community Center before start time.
