With the exception of a few days from January-April 2026, Gammelgården Museum is closed from today until the first Saturday in May.
Gammelgården is closed from December 21, 2025 to January 23, 2026. The museum is open from 10-4 on January 24, 2026 (Vinterfest). Gammelgården is closed again for the season from January 25-May 1, 2026. The museum will reopen for the 2026 season at 10 a.m. on May 2, 2026.
Staff and volunteers work together to take down the holiday exhibits and decorations; wrap and package the artifacts and artwork; and do inventory for the gift shop. Volunteers (teens and adults) are encouraged to help with this annual transition as we prepare for Vinterfest later in the month. This is your opportunity to get Scandinavian food and gifts to take home and enjoy after the delicious lutefisk and meatballs dinner at Christ Lutheran Church in Marine on St. Croix. There will be a variety of items for purchase from Gammelgården's Butik (Gift Shop) - food, home decorations, books, clothing, and more.
