Artifacts Wanted

As Gammelgården prepares for the 2026 season, there are artifacts that would be wonderful for the Museum to receive. If you have any of these items that you would like to donate, please complete the Offer of Artifacts Form and email it to Ann at director@gammelgardenmuseum.org.

The museum is looking for the following items:

– Fine art (2D/that can be hung on walls) relevant to the Swedish experience and/or of Swedish artists.

– Folk art that showcases the skills and vision of Swedish artists, from immigrants of the 1800s to the present day.

– Swedish and Swedish-American textiles, especially those from the mid-to-late 1800s. Items that are embroidered, woven, and/or are decoratively sewn or embellished in some way are particularly needed for our 2026 main exhibit.

– Items made from flax and/or the equipment used to process flax.

– Swedish folk dräkt.

– Musical instruments that Swedish immigrants would have played.

– Lucia, tomte, or julbocken figurines or artwork.

– Shoes from the mid-to-late 1800s.

– Personal care items (e.g., brushes, combs, glass containers for perfume or products).

– Swedish jewelry from the mid-to-late 1800s.
