Mormor and Her Knäckebröd

“Mormor and Her Knäckebröd” is an example of flat-plane carving that shows the daily life of Swedish peasants. Notice the woman’s typical daily dress: a head scarf and apron with handwork trim at the hem. The uniformity of her knäckerbröd rounds is impressive. This piece was carved and signed by Dave Fowler, and gifted to Gammelgarden in 2017 by Lynne Blomstrand Moratzka.
