BRAZIL!

Brazil is in eastern South America and is home to the Amazon Rainforest, the world’s largest tropical rainforest. It is known for its music and carnival culture, a form of street festival. Brazil developed popular musical movements including Bossa Nova, Samba, and Sertanejo. Alongside its music, Brazil has rich cultural diversity. Brazil has approximately 300 indigenous tribes, the largest Japanese population outside of Japan, and nearly half the population identifies as Afro-Brazilian or of mixed heritage. Popular foods include Acai, Biju, Feijoada, and Brigadeiro.

Thank you to all those who attended our Japanese and Swedish Spelmansstämman. We hope to see you again next year to celebrate Brazil!
